Photographer / Illustrator / Designer

Life is good! I have my health, my hair, my teeth. LOL Most important is that I have the love of a good woman by my side. I am blessed to have had the chance to do and experience so many things in this life.

As a kid I thought I would grow up to be a cartoonist. At about the age of nine I was drawing my favorite cartoon characters. My parents, seeing this, bought me a How to Draw book. I loved that book. I must have sketched out every single lesson in that book. I still have the book and those original drawings. Then came the computer age. At the time home computers were not common but I had two. A Commodore 64 and a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. Yes, I was a computer geek. LOL Entering into college I declared my major to be Computer Information Systems. I was to be a programmer or so I thought. In my second semester I took a photography class and that was it. I was hooked! My instructor help me to get an apprenticeship with a local photographer. From there I started accepting photography contract work. So many photography clients would come asking about needed designs (flyers etc.). I would take the design work to get the photography job. Now the digital age was upon us and I needed to learn the digital work flow. I was not familiar with Adobe nor their programs. So I enrolled in a trade school to learn them and learn I did. My photography career became a career in design. I love them both. I am still an active photographer. My focus has turned more to fine art photography.

I have held a number of positions and tiles along the way:
Student, Apprentice, Co-Owner (CoylePhotographics), Graphic Designer, Production Manager, Art Director, Director of Graphic Services, Computer Graphics Manager

But these are the positions and titles that I am most proud of:
Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Friend.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
